ENDORSEMENTS

"Having known Branden since 2019 as a campaign worker for our longtime Portage-Lisgar representative Candice Bergen, I have seen his determination to work hard at whatever task he is involved with. Coming from a farming background he understands agriculture issues, as well as the current threat farmers are facing. He is a strong advocate of business and the need to remove the barriers that prevent  a more free enterprise system. His personal convictions allow for a solid foundation for freedom of expression and family values to be fundamental to our constituency and influence in Ottawa. It would be valuable to give Branden Leslie an ear as he looks for support in running as our next Conservative candidate in Portage-Lisgar."

Martin Harder
Former Mayor of Winkler

"I have known and worked with Branden for the last three years in his role as the manager of policy and government relations at the Grain Growers of Canada. Branden has a deep understanding of Ag policy and what's important to farmers. Branden knows how to get those important points across to the government. Branden will make an ideal MP for Portage-Lisgar"

Gunter Jochum

President of Western Canadian Wheat Growers Association

"Branden Leslie brings a solid understanding of rural life and agricultural policy and knows what Portage-Lisgar constituents need to move forward in the future."

Ian Wishart, MLA
Portage la Prairie

“I first met Branden during my time as President of Keystone Agricultural Producers. Since then I’ve seen him dedicate his work to Canada's ag industry and rural Canadians. As someone who was raised on a family farm in Portage-Lisgar, Branden shares the values and priorities of southern Manitobans. And as someone who has worked in Canada’s Parliament, he knows how to get things done for the people he is striving to represent. I have no doubt that Branden will serve the people of Portage-Lisgar incredibly well as their next Conservative Member of Parliament – he has my full support."

Dan Mazier, MP
Dauphin-Swan River-Neepawa

"Branden Leslie knows how to get results.  He was instrumental in helping me pass my Private Members Bill C-208, which finally eliminated the unfair tax rates when farmers and small business owners sold their operations to their family.  Branden has been on the front lines in pushing forward legislation to eliminate the Liberal carbon tax off of farmers and he's been leading the charge against Justin Trudeau's proposed plan to limit fertilizer. He will be a strong Conservative voice for the people of Portage-Lisgar in Parliament."

Larry Maguire, MP
Brandon-Souris

"Branden Leslie was my senior assistant in my MP office in Ottawa for nearly 5 years. During his tenure with me he became a trusted advisor and provided sound guidance on many issues; especially those pertaining to the growth and development of rural Manitoba, especially our agricultural communities. From ensuring that potato farmers had access to the latest crop protection technology, to strongly advocating for modern agriculture, to advocating for sound trade policies, to assisting me in the fight to protect modern animal use, among many other issues, Branden proved to be an invaluable asset on many difficult and challenging files.

His work in Ottawa in my office, and for other MPs, has given him a detailed knowledge of how to navigate the complex systems in Ottawa to deliver for Rural Manitoba. He is a strong advocate for sound environmental policies that not only conserve Canada’s precious natural resources, but in a manner that allows rural communities to grow and thrive. Branden also provided guidance on how to protect lawful firearms owners from the Trudeau government and helped me defeat a Liberal animal rights bill that had the potential to seriously curtail modern animal use.

Branden was also a strong advocate for Canada's hunters, anglers, and sport shooters and provided detailed guidance to me and other MPs. Branden grew up on a farm in the Portage area and his detailed knowledge of agricultural and trade issues proved invaluable. And as a staff person for the Grain Growers of Canada he has participated in the development of Canada’s agricultural policies. I wholeheartedly support Branden Leslie to be the Conservative Party of Canada candidate in the constituency of Portage-Lisgar."

Robert Sopuck
MP for Dauphin-Swan River-Neepawa, 2010-2019

"Branden is a team builder. He knows how to communicate and get a point across.  He comes from a farming background, and he understands how integral the agricultural industry is to our region. He has years of political experience and I firmly believe we need someone with his knowledge and his can-do attitude to represent us in Parliament. Branden will provide strong leadership for all of us in Portage-Lisgar."

"Branden has the dedication, enthusiasm, and drive to see positive outcomes for projects. He can speak with anyone, especially in the agricultural sector and in politics, where diverse opinions abound. He knows how to build coalitions, understands team work, networking and more!"

Jeff Nielsen
Former Chair of Grain Growers of Canada

"Having known Branden Leslie and worked with him for several years in the Parliamentary environment, I know that he would make an excellent MP for Portage-Lisgar, a riding that I lived in more than a few years ago."

Hon. Laurie Hawn

MP for Edmonton Centre, 2006-2015

"In a busy office facing tough issues, two things were always clear: Branden Leslie understood the needs of Caucus, and had his eye on the greater good. Branden will succeed at whatever he does, but having him represent Portage-Lisgar will be good for Manitoba, and great for Canada."

Andrew House
Chief of Staff to Canada's Minister of Public Safety, 2010-15

"When it came time to apply for funding for our new pickleball courts, Branden willingly helped lend his knowledge on numerous occasions, helping me and the club with both speech writing and with grant applications. We could not have been successful without his input and expertise.

"He understands the world of government and has so much to offer as a young, fresh minded, rurally grounded person who understands both this riding and the people who live and work here."
